The Matthew Nicholls Foundation has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide.
Rob Nicholls, Trustee for The Matthew Nicholls Foundation commented “Tuesday 27th November will be 2018’s National Day of Giving. Our aim is to (virtually) gather a whole host of artists/groups to present their own video renditions of The Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends” – a demonstration of the power that music holds in bringing people together and sharing that all-important message about how music can enrich our lives.”
“To partake in the project, we ask that people produce their own cover of the song and post it to Facebook, Twitter and / or Instagram on Tuesday 27th November using the hashtag #friendsofTMNF. Whilst some might choose to produce a fully-fledged, multi-tracked reinvention, others might sing just the first verse a cappella, during a rehearsal break or whilst walking to the bus stop – the field is wide open, there are no expectations and we’ll be very grateful for any contribution, however big or small!”
“We hope this is seen as a fun and exciting way of raising awareness of our fledgling music charity and supporting our work in providing musical opportunities to young people.”
