Who we are
Meet the team
Matthew Nicholls, a gifted musician who grew up in Manchester and ultimately living in London, took his own life aged just 24. This charitable foundation has been established to ensure a great deal of good can come out of the tragedy of another young life lost.
Bringing together a multi-disciplinary group of trustees helps to give a balanced approach to our work, ensure funding decisions we make are appropriate and in keeping with the objectives of the charity and to create a musical future for us all in Matthew’s name.
Hi, I’m Rob and as Lead Trustee my primary focus is on developing relationships with both donors and users and to understand how our funding can create the greatest impact on music projects for young people. Coming from a corporate background I have a history of building two successful businesses from conception, skills which I have transferred into building this charitable Foundation. Away from the Foundation I enjoy walking and spending time with friends, family…and dog!
Hi, I’m Rachel, and as an Occupational Therapist I am particularly passionate about the Psychosocial wellbeing benefits of music participation and have the enthusiasm and commitment to make music accessible to young people with life challenges. Working for many years in the health and social care field I know the importance of effective communication to ‘get the job done’ and focus on using my communication and networking skills to build effective relationships and promote the Foundation.
Hi I’m Ollie. As a music educator currently working with a wide range of young people, I’ll be calling upon my experience to help shape TMNF’s upcoming projects and assessing the musical needs of the individuals we’ll be supporting.
Outside of my additional work as a composer, theatre-maker and choir leader, you’ll find me wandering around local country parks or at the cinema…perhaps a little too often!
